Fristi 30 sec. TVC environment concept art.

April 24, 2013

I recently finished directing a 30 second Fristi commercial for Leo Burnett in Ho Chi Mihn city. Cirkus is currently in the process of regrading the finished commercial for our reel as we weren’t happy with the client directed grade for the televised version (watch this space). The epic battle between the hero characters and an army of evil robot villains had to take place in an old dilapidated carnival park.
Taking inspiration from images of Pripyat and other abandoned places I had two days to rough up concept art to show the agency what we intended as environment elements. The derelict wooden roller coaster was inspired by the wonderful Cyclone in Coney Island, Brooklyn.
